Along the way, learn the art of bargaining, an important part of everyday life in Zanzibar’s markets. After shopping, travel by daladala, Zanzibar’s local public transport, to the cooking venue. Here, experienced local Swahili women will introduce you to the ingredients, techniques, and traditions behind the island’s distinctive cuisine.
This is more than a cooking demonstration. You will actively help prepare traditional Swahili dishes, gaining practical skills and a deeper appreciation of Zanzibar’s culinary heritage. Finally, sit down to enjoy the meal you have helped prepare while listening to the enchanting rhythms of Taarab music.
